Book Fair

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

What an amazing day we had on Monday. It was so beautiful to see so many grandparents at our school. I also got to see lots and lots in the hall for Book Fair. Those grandparents were certainly very generous. We had the busiest time and really were run off our feet. Thank you everyone who supported our Fair. We earn a commission so I can't wait to see how much we can made to help us select new books.

I also am amazed at the generosity of people who handed me cash as donations or bought books for our school.It will certainly come in very handy. So thank you thank you

Book Week Celebrations

Get Ready to Parade! Book Week 2026 is Here!

Dust off the costumes and open up your favorite storybooks—Book Week is just around the corner! From  August 22nd – 28th, our school will join thousands of readers across the country in celebrating the magic of literature.

This year’s theme is "Symphony of Stories," celebrating how different voices, illustrations, and characters come together like notes in a song to create unforgettable adventures.

Book Week Parade

• Who: Students, staff, and families are all invited to watch!

Costume Ideas & Tips

Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character or create a costume inspired by this year's "Symphony of Stories" theme.

• Keep it simple: DIY costumes, cardboard props, and reusing household items are always crowd-favorites!
• Bring the book: If possible, encourage your child to bring the book that matches their costume to carry during the parade.

And at 10:15 our little Joey's and Kinder are doing their own special Book Week Parade.

You are all welcome to join us in our classrooms and then join in our parade. We would love to see you!

Author Visit

We are very excited to welcome a local author to our school on August 27th also. Bec Nanayakarr will present to all our children. Bec is a children’s author. She lives in the beautiful New England Region with her husband and five children. Her stories are inspired by nature, tricky emotions and the ups and downs of everyday life.

Bec's background is in education and wellbeing and she writes with the aim to engage, inspire and promote growth mindsets.

I am hoping Bec will bring along some signed copies of her books which will be able to be puchased on the day. More information about this will be in the next newsletter.

Deadly door

Over many weeks we have been preparing our Library Deadly Door for Naidoc Celebration and today we put the finishing touches on it. I am proud to say that every child in our school had a part to play in it. We love it! It is an amazing colourful celebratory artwork.

5 star reads 

Over the holidays I spent time catching up on my reading and it was made better by reading some books that I gave the full 5 stars to. This is not often but these are the books I love to recommend!

The Calamity Club - Kathryn Stockett  Do yourself a favour and listen to the audio. I've been thinking about it long after I have finished. 

Whistler - Ann Patchett - Just a beautiful story

The Things We Never Say - Elizabeth Stroud The main character in this book really appealed to me and he was a teacher too.
