Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

Welcome back! It has been wonderful to see our students return, quickly settling into routines and engaging enthusiastically in their learning. Guided by our 2026 Annual Improvement Plan, we remain committed to providing high-quality learning experiences, complemented by a range of extra-curricular opportunities. This term, primary students have the opportunity to participate in ICAS assessments, New England Sings! preparation, touch football, cricket and netball Gala Days, ACS Diocesan Athletics. There are also some planned Geography fieldwork excursions, parish Masses and Book Week celebrations, including an author visit, open classrooms and our annual character parade for the whole school.

One of the greatest strengths of St Joseph's is the partnership we share with our staff, families and parish community. Our strong sense of community was evident this week, with increased parent attendance at the P&F meeting, the tremendous support shown through the P&F Pie Drive and more than 120 grandparents, parents and special friends joining us for our Grandparents' Day Liturgy and celebrations.These occasions celebrate what makes St Joseph’s so special. I am proud to serve our wonderful community, where students, families, staff and parish come together to help every child belong, grow and thrive.

Celebrating Our Commitment to Learning

I would like to sincerely thank our students and families for the positive two terms of school attendance this year. On average, our students are attending school 91% of the time and 7 out of every 10 students have attended school for 90% or more of the year so far. Regular attendance is essential for continuity of learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. Please note below the impact of missing the ‘occasional’ day of school.
