Year 3/4 camp 2026
Our Year 3/4 students went on an exciting adventure at Lady Northcote last week. School camps play a vital role in a child’s development; they offer opportunities for students to build resilience, develop independence away from home, and strengthen peer relationships in a supportive environment outside the traditional classroom. Throughout the time away, staff witnessed these benefits firsthand. The children embraced every new opportunity and challenge with enthusiasm. The Lady Northcote camp staff explicitly commended our students for their exceptionally respectful behavior and their ability to trust and listen to the instructors. You only have to look at their smiling faces to see what a deeply rewarding experience it was for them. A massive thank you to our Year 3/4 team Allison, JP and Ava for their organisation, with a special mention to Ava for her outstanding co-ordination of the event. We also extend our gratitude to Michaela, Antoinette, Rika, Ash, Noah, and Maria for their invaluable support in making this camp such a success.
Welcome
On Friday we welcomed new student, Alex to Year 3/4N at Holy Rosary. Alex and his parents have moved to Melbourne from Ireland.
On the first day of Term 3 we will also welcome Andrew to Year 1/2S. Andrew, his sisters, and his parents are moving to Melbourne from New Zealand over the holidays.
Both families are looking forward to embracing all that Melbourne and Kensington has to offer. We wish them every happiness in their new homes, at HR and in the Kensington community.
Foundation Getting to Know You Sessions
I am currently involved in Getting to Know You Sessions with 2027 Foundation students and their families. I've already had the pleasure of meeting a number of delightful children and their families, and I look forward to meeting many more before the end of the term. Our acceptance letters will be issued to families by the end of the term so that we can finalise our Round 1 enrolments. If you know of families who are interested but have yet to enrol for 2027, please phone the office.
Building Maintenance Project
Our project is moving ahead and the team had a further meeting late last week to finalise the selection of the builders. We are hoping that the project will be ready to kick off in the coming weeks.
End of Term
Next week is the final week of our term. This is a casual clothes day for all students. School finishes at 1:00pm on Friday 26 June.
Farewell Families
We farewell two families at the end of the term. Kobe Luong will move to his new home and school, and Evie and Elijiah Coss are moving to Amsterdam. We thank Rachel and Simon, and Ben and Tianne for choosing Holy Rosary for their children's education and we wish them all every success and happiness in their new homes and schools.
Term 3
Term 3 commences on Monday 13 June at 8:50am.
This is the last newsletter for this term.
