Step 1: List Learning Intentions and Success Criteria

We are learning to :

define these behaviours - physical contact, property misuse and technology violation
explain what these things look like

It will look like:

explaining what physical contact, property misuse and technology violation mean
identifying examples of each behaviour
explaining how these behaviours affect safety, respect and learning.

Step 2: List a rationale for teaching the behaviour

Why is it important?

Step 3: Identify examples and non-examples of the desired behaviour

What would the behaviour look/sound like?

Examples

Physical contact:

Keeping my hands, feet and objects to myself

Respecting personal space

Using my words instead of actions

Playing safely with balls and sports equipment

Property Use:

Using school property correctly means treating school materials, equipment and spaces with care and respect.

Looking after school property by using it carefully and respectfully.

Taking pride in caring for our classroom and school resources.

Using school equipment responsibly and helping keep it in good condition.

Showing respect for shared spaces and materials every day.

Caring for school property to help everyone learn and play safely.

Returning borrowed items to the correct place.

Technology Violation:

Using the correct apps and websites that the teacher has instructed.

Respecting the technology, for e.g carefully putting the ipads away.

Coming off technology when asked by the teacher.

Sharing ipad time between people.

What would the behaviour not look/sound like?

Non-examples

Physical contact:

Hitting, pushing, kicking, fighting with others.

Using objects to harm or hurt others.

Invading other people's personal space.

Being unsafe with sporting equipment.

Property Misuse

Bending, ripping, breaking items.

Dragging, tipping or standing on chairs.

Hiding, damaging or keeping items that belong to the class.

Throwing pencils or drawing on furniture.

Grabbing materials from others or refusing to share.

Leaving materials on the floor or tables.

Technology violation:

Using iPads and apps without permission.

Accessing websites that are not related to learning activity.

Taking photos of staff members without permission.

Recording audio without consent.

Accessing someone else's private account and their information.
