Mini-Boss: Chemical Sciences Incursion

Earlier this term, all Year 5/6 students took part in an engaging full-day science incursion called The Lab run by Mini Boss Science Incursions. The session encouraged students to explore how science forms part of everyday life and how we use scientific thinking in everything we do. Working in teams, students conducted a series of hands-on experiments investigating how different materials react when combined.

Students then applied their new knowledge in an Everyday Science Challenge, blending skills from science, business and economics, art, and English to create their very own bath bomb. Each team experimented with colours and scents before presenting their findings and business outcomes in a detailed Scientific Report.
