Principal's message

Dear Families,

As we prepare for the warmer weather of Term 4, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of two key policies: our Mobile Phone and Personal Device Policy and our Sun Safe Policy.

Mobile Phones and Personal Devices Policy

We understand that mobile phones and devices, including smartwatches, are an integral part of daily life. However, to ensure our learning environment remains uninterrupted, we have clear expectations for their use during the school day.

Key Policy Points:

  1. Mobile phones and smartwatches must be switched off and stored securely during school hours.
  2. Phones and devices are to be handed in to class teachers at the start of the day and collected at the end of the day.
  3. Families needing to contact students during the school day should do so via the front office, and students can also make supervised calls if required.
  4. Misuse of devices will result in confiscation, and the device will need to be collected by a parent/carer.

Your support in reinforcing these expectations with your child at home is greatly appreciated.

Sun Safe Policy

The warmer months are almost here, and it is vital to ensure all students are protected from harmful UV exposure while outside. Starting Term 4, our Sun Safe Policy will come into effect, in line with Anti-Cancer Council recommendations.

Key Policy Points:

  1. All students must wear a school-approved hat when outdoors during Term 4. This includes during play breaks, and any outdoor activities such as sport or Physical Education.
  2. Only school hats purchased from the office are acceptable. These hats are designed to meet the Anti-Cancer Council's SunSmart guidelines, offering appropriate shade and protection.
  3. Students without a school-approved hat will be asked to remain in shaded areas designated by staff and will not be permitted to participate in outdoor activities.

School Hats & Where to Purchase

If your child does not yet have a school-approved hat, they can be purchased at our front office. Please ensure your child has their hat ready before the start of Term 4 to avoid any disruption to their outdoor activities.

We thank you for your cooperation in upholding our Sun Safe Policy and for ensuring students stay protected while enjoying their time outdoors.

Thank You for Your Support

Your collaboration in reinforcing both our Sun Safe Policy and Mobile Phone Policy at home is essential in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at Clovelly Park Primary School.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office.

We wish everyone a safe holiday break and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 13 October for the beginning of Term 4.

Warm regards,

Terena Pope
