Principal's Report -

Parent Opinion Survey Edition

Dear Parents,

Welcome to this special Parent Opinion Survey edition of the newsletter. For those unaware, the Parent Opinion Survey is conducted in every government school every year. All of our parents are invited to complete the survey which is anonymous. The results of the survey are collated by an external agency with these results provided to the school later in the year.

We are very proud to say that over the past few years, our results from parents have been very positive and have given us information on what we are doing well, and what we can improve upon.

For example, results in 2021 showed parent participation quite low at 78%. As such school council set about working with parents to improve access and participation. Results last year showed this has improved to to 94%. Likewise with the physical environment, parents gave us a rating of 73% in 2020. Post our staged improvement strategy our results in this area last year were 94%. Whilst only two examples, it shows we do take onboard the feedback from parents to continually improve.

So, if you do have some time, I would strongly encourage all parents to consider completing the survey. As an added incentive, when you have completed the survey, take a screenshot of the last slide and sent it to the office at mackellar.ps@education.vic.gov.au  to be in the running for one of two Osprey drones.  The winners of these drones will be drawn at assembly once the survey has closed.

Further into this newsletter are collated pages from previous newsletters providing information for you to make an informed choice. Feel free to flick through the pages as you complete the survey, as some questions can be a little ambiguous.

Following the release of this newsletter, a XUNO message will be sent to all families with the survey link and generic pin. If you have any queries at all regarding the survey, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

Simon McGlade
