Cross Country News

What a huge success last Friday's Cross Country event was. How fortunate we were to be blessed with such beautiful weather!
Thank you to our House Colour Captains. Your fantastic leadership skills were evident in the way in which you led your team chants and encouraged your house colour members throughout the day.
We would like to thank all of the adult volunteers who assisted with setting and packing up, as well as those who helped with the scoring. Thank you also to members of our staff who worked in collaboration behind the scenes to organise this event.

St Mark’s Cross Country- Reports from our Year 6 House Colour Captains
Friday the 1st of May was a day to remember at our annual Cross Country! Every single runner showed incredible passion, pushing through to the finish line and never giving up. A massive thank you to all the House Captains-your voices must be sore from cheering so hard! To our Green Team: You made us so proud. The energy and effort you brought to the race gave everyone the best experience
possible. As your overly proud house captains, me (Zoe) and
Alexander couldn't have asked for a better performance. Go Green!

To all of the blue house members I would like to say thank you for an amazing cross country. Every one did an excellent job shouting out the chants and listening to your captains. You showed resilience during your races, and every one definitely showed the Blue House spirit.

The day started with so much happiness and anticipation while we were walking to Parker Reserve. I could tell everyone was excited because of their keen energy while singing the chants. As leaders, we made sure that all kids could get to their races in time. We also had to run alongside others because they may not have had the energy to keep running. Even though we didn’t
win, we knew everyone tried their best and they didn't get
frustrated, they just accepted it. Most importantly everyone was
happy.

Wow, there was so much excitement as we all walked over to Parker Reserve. Once we got to the park we went to our house colour areas and practised our chants. After everyone said their chants we got back to our spots. We helped the younger kids get hyped up and ready for their races. After all the races finished we went back to
school and announced which team had won. After 11 years, Gold House finally won and broke Green House’s winning streak! In the end everyone was happy but tired after their races. Once we won we still respected and thanked the other teams for racing alongside us. After all the news we still all had a good time.
