6th Sunday of Easter (Sunday 10th May)
The readings for this Sunday, the 6th Sunday of Easter, remind us that God is always with us and always caring for us, no matter where we are or what situation we are in. In the gospel, Jesus tells us that he has not abandoned us and that he has sent the Holy Spirit to be with us always. The Holy Spirit guides and empowers us to live out our faith and we demonstrate our love for Jesus and others by following his commandments.
Gospel Reading: Jn 14:15-21
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘If you love me you will keep my commandments.
I shall ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you for ever,
that Spirit of truth
whom the world can never receive
since it neither sees nor knows him;
but you know him,
because he is with you, he is in you.
I will not leave you orphans;
I will come back to you.
In a short time the world will no longer see me;
but you will see me,
because I live and you will live.
On that day
you will understand that I am in my Father
and you in me and I in you.
Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them
will be one who loves me;
and anybody who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I shall love him and show myself to him.’

A Prayer for Mothers
Dear Lord,
Bless our mothers with wisdom
to teach and guide their children
in a way that will help them to follow You.
Give all mothers the patience
to deal with the difficulties of their job
and, most of all, give them a special blessing
as they care for their children.
We pray also for mothers who are sick
and for those who have died,
that they may enjoy eternal life in heaven.

Years 3- Years 6 - Outreach to Fawkner Kindergarten
Student Report- By Ruby (LA8)
On Thursday the 30th of April, I went to the Fawkner Kindergarten with Amelia, Maya and Valentina. We had to split into two groups, one went outside and the other stayed inside. Me and Valentina went outside first and we had so much fun! We played in the sand pit with some of the kinder kids, and then we went into a little house where more kinder kids were making cake (out of sand ). After a while we went inside where most of the kinder kids were. We became chefs and made a hamburger. After that we then went to play with
playdough (which was purple). I made a stack of star pancakes, while Valentina made things with different stencils. Although it felt like it was a very short time we all had so much fun!
