Principal's Pen

Kaya, hello Families and Caregivers.
As we said farewell to Term 4 and saw the end of another year we had a lot to celebrate.
Public School Review
In November, Neerigen Brook Primary School underwent a Public School Review visit to validate our self-assessment and forward planning. The school was attended by , Director of Public School Review and , Peer Reviewer. The team met with a variety of staff, parents and students, who provided insights into practices, policies and the learning environment at Neerigen Brook Primary School.
The self-assessment was validated and the commendations and recommendations were endorsed by the Deputy Director General across all 5 domains, Relationships and Partnerships, Learning Environment, Leadership, Use of Resources, Teaching Quality and Student Achievement and Progress. I am very proud to report that Neerigen Brook Primary School met the expected level of school performance in all areas, with a five-year return in all domains. I would like to thank all our staff for the continued high quality of education, care and professionalism they display in their roles across the school. I would like to thank our community members, parents and students who contributed to the review process and who continue to work hard every day to ensure we continue to build a strong community and support our students to achieve success.
A full copy of the report is available on the school website and Schools Online.
Celebration of Learning
We ended the year with a number of celebrations that demonstrated the depth of learning across all year levels. Thank you to Musica Viva for the ongoing support through the Music Education Residency Program. Our exceptional music teacher, Ms Mees led the Band Assembly where we saw the skill and talent of many students. The residency has enabled class teachers to learn alongside Ms Mees as she shares her expertise and builds capacity in both staff and students. Thank you, Ms Mees, for your dedication and for the exceptional work you do with our staff and students. This talent was on display at our annual Jingle and Mingle where each class performed and families attended and enjoyed the night. Thank you to all families who attended as it was a great way to end the year and an opportunity for staff to wish families well as they headed off for the end of the year.
Room 17 created a special performance in collaboration with the Western Australian Ballet through the Chance 2 Dance Creative Learning Residency. Together with their teacher Ms Aporo they committed to learning the routine and performed this beautifully. Congratulations on an outstanding performance.
We ended the year with the Book Awards and the Year 6 Graduation. Both events highlighted the achievements of many students across the year and provided the opportunity for family and community to join us all in celebrating individual success. Congratulations to all students on working hard across the year. To our Year 6 students we wished them well as they headed off into the holidays, ready to embark on their secondary journey. We wish them all the very best for their future.
For our final good bye for the year we bid farewell to staff and students who were moving on for 2026. A big thank you to everyone for being a part of our school community for 2025 and we wish those families moving on, all the very best for the future.
