Principal's Message

Dear Families and friends,

This week we had the privilege to attend an Aboriginal Infusion incursion. It was an engaging introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. We were able to develop an understanding of the rich and ancient traditions of Australia’s First Peoples. This learning will be woven into our learning especially of our First Inventors within our design Project.

This week I also began our annual review meetings with staff. It is a genuine privilege to hear our teachers reflect so thoughtfully on their practice, their commitment to our students, and their vision for education. I continue to be inspired by the growth mindset of the St Mary's team and their dedication to continuous improvement in all they do. Their passion for learning ensures that our children receive the very best opportunities each day.

Many families have been asking about our outdoor spaces, and I'm pleased to provide an update. We are currently having our senior playground professionally reviewed to determine the works required before it can safely reopen. We have also received quotes for the installation of our new GAGA Pit and look forward to working alongside our Parents and Friends Association as this exciting project progresses. Our basketball and tennis courts are also awaiting a professional clean and will be reopened as soon as this has been completed.

Finally, we are delighted to welcome Hollie Jones to the St Mary's community as our Art teacher. Hollie also teaches at Our Lady of the Rosary in Kyneton and will be with us each Thursday. We are excited to see the creativity, enthusiasm and artistic opportunities she will bring to our students and know she will be a wonderful addition to our learning community.

Have a great weekend Gemma
