Book Week Celebrations
What a wonderful celebration of Book Week we enjoyed across our school!
Tuesday’s Book Week Parade and Grandparents Morning were a tremendous success. Despite the rain, our school was filled with colour, creativity and excitement as students proudly arrived dressed as their favourite book characters. The imagination and effort that went into the costumes were outstanding and reflected our community’s enthusiasm for books and reading.
It was also a pleasure to welcome so many grandparents and special visitors into our school. Their presence made the morning particularly meaningful for our students and added to the warm sense of community throughout the event.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for the considerable effort that went into preparing costumes, organising activities and ensuring the morning ran so smoothly. We are also grateful to everyone who adapted cheerfully to the wet weather and helped make the celebration such a positive and memorable occasion.
A huge thank you to Mrs Burman for organising and coordinating our Lamont Book Fair, and to all the staff who assisted with the set-up, running and pack-up of the fair.
Thank you also to our CEPS families who supported the Book Fair by purchasing books for their children. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for reading across our school community.
Importantly, the school’s proceeds from the Book Fair will be returned to CEPS in the form of new books for our library, providing even more reading opportunities for our students.
Book Week is an important opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the stories that inspire, entertain and connect us. Thank you to every member of our school community who participated and helped make this year’s celebrations such a huge success.

Hats are Back
Time to find and dust off the CEPS hats and hopefully now put the beanies away for now.
Hats are back on Monday 31 August in line with our Sun Smart Policy. Students are required to wear a sun smart school hat when outside from next week.
ICAS 2026
A big thank you and congratulations to all students who participated in our inaugural offering of ICAS at CEPS. It was fantastic to see so many students challenge their thinking and extend themselves through the English, Science and Mathematics assessments.
A huge shout-out to Mr Gordon for his outstanding coordination of ICAS from start to finish, and thank you to the staff who supported the supervision of the assessments.
Once results and certificates are available, we look forward to recognising and celebrating our students’ achievements at a future assembly.
Well done to everyone who took on the ICAS challenge! I think it will be even bigger in 2027!
Parents Committee Thank You
Thank you to our amazing Parents Committee for the recent Bakers Delight Special Food Day, where the students were able to order delicious, freshly baked savoury rolls. We are really fortunate to have such a committed group of parents/carers who provide these opportunities for our students. I know the students are looking forward to the next Special Food Day on Thursday 10 September. My gluten-free hot dog order is in!
2026 Parent and Caregivers Survey
The Department of Education's annual Parent/Carer Opinion Survey is still open until Friday 18 September.
We should all be exceptionally proud of our school, so this survey presents as an important opportunity to celebrate and highlight all the wonderful things about our school, our students, staff, families and community, while also helping us identify where we can continue to grow.
Last year, only 13 families responded. This year, we want to hear from everyone! So far we have received 36 responses/

Keeping Our School Grounds Safe
To help keep all students, families and visitors safe, we remind everyone that bikes and scooters must not be ridden within the school grounds. Students and adults should dismount at the gate and walk their bike or scooter while on school property.
This expectation applies at all times, including before and after school, during school hours and on weekends. Even when the grounds appear quiet, people may be entering or leaving buildings, playing nearby or moving through areas with limited visibility.
Families are also reminded that only approved therapy dogs and seeing-eye dogs are permitted on school property. All other dogs and animals must remain outside the school grounds and be appropriately tethered or secured under the supervision of a responsible adult.
This requirement also applies at all times, including before and after school and on weekends.
