In its sixth year, the Alex Gadomski Cup will be played on Wednesday 23 August at War Memorial Oval at The Hutchins School and will be live streamed on DUFF TV.
This event honours former student Alex Gadomski and to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Alex Gadomski Fellowship which is seeking to find a cure for bone marrow failure.
This year will again feature two curtain raiser matches between the St Virgil's College and The Hutchins School:
All Old Boys of the schools, current parents/carers, family and friends are encouraged to attend. This event is open to the general public and is free of charge.
We have a World Gold Medalist in our midst! Congratulations to Nayte Ackerley (Year 11) who won gold as a part of the Australian Basketball Team at the World Dwarf Games in Germany. Nayte contributed to Australia’s Grand Final win against USA 30-3. What an achievement for this young man and a tribute to his commitment, sportsmanship and passion for basketball.
Congratulations to student athlete Xavier Wright (Year 9) who has been selected as a member of the 2023 Tasmanian Institute of Sport Talent ID Squad. Xavier, a talented athlete across a range of sports including football, athletics, surf lifesaving and swimming to name a few, initially participated in the TIS Talent Search Days conducted earlier in the year. Good luck to Xavier and his journey with the TIS.
Congratulations to Sam Nadler (Year 11) who represented Tasmania at the 2023 New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championships in New Zealand.
