Leader of Learning & Teaching
With Mr Herb
We hope all students have enjoyed their start to the school year.
From a learning perspective, we welcome some new KLA Leaders this year. For 2026, the our new leaders of Science are:
Anneka Morrison (7-9)
Aniket Kulkarni (10-12)
Both these staff members have demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning, and will be wonderful additions to our KLA Leader Team.
Assessment Calendars are now finalised and available on the College Website under the ‘Learning and Teaching’. A reminder that Students in Years 7-11 will have no more than 3 Summative Tasks per year per subject, while HSC students will have a maximum of 4.
Parents of Year 7 and Year 9 also please note that NAPLAN testing will take place during Week 7 and 8 of this term (see schedule below). Students need to attend school promptly on these days and ensure that they bring a pen, a set of non-blue tooth headphones and a fully charged school laptop. They will then line up outside the Hall in alphabetical order and enter silently to complete the test.

Finally, please note that as the new School year commences we know that students and families are excited to meet their new teachers and find out their new classes. While these classes might be different for the student than in previous years, we have utmost confidence that all staff and classmates will provide a productive and supportive learning environment for all students.
While we understand families may have individual requests and preferences for certain staff and students in their classes, there are many factors which influence our timetable and as such it is very difficult to meet each individual request.
As a School that believes in the Growth Mindset, we ask that all students actively engage in their current classes and take Term 1 to adjust to these new environments and encourage ongoing communication with the classroom teacher to clarify questions about student learning.
We hope that everyone has an enjoyable start to the school year!
Yours in learning,
Damien Herb
