Year of Jubilee - Pilgrims of Hope
Embrace hope, deepen our faith, and draw closer to God.
- Pope Francis
The Senior students will be presenting the Stations of the Cross liturgy on Tuesday 1st April in the school hall at 2:30p.m. Please join us in celeberating this special liturgical celebration leading up to Easter.
The students and staff are working on their own unique creations of the Stations of the Cross so that we can visit them around the school as part of our learning. Please look out for them.
Next term, we will be celebrating Easter, that occurs on the holidays, during our first week of Term 2 - Thursday 24th April at 9:00a.m in the school hall. Please join us for this most important liturgical celebration of the Risen Christ.
This special day will see our students complete a variety of Easter acitivities in multi-age groupings as well as participate in a KABOOM incursion whereby the students will take part in a variety of sporting acitivities at school.
Congratulations to all the students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time last week - Lokie, Euan, Frankie, Gracie, Liliana, Olivia, Selena O, Selana R, Antonio, Harvey, Shania, Ana, Mavae & Eva. May your faith journey continue as you grow as children of God.
Last week, the Social Justice Team were commissioned as our Mini Vinnies for 2025. Father Prabhu blessed the students during a Commissioning Ceremony in the Chapel. Congratulations to Joshwin, Joelle, Naren, Bismeet & Kollyan in leading the way as faith filled leaders of our school by upholding the St Vincent de Paul motto; ' A hand up, not a hand out' which is inspired by founder Frédéric Ozanam, who is quoted to have said, "In my life I want to be better and do a little good."
The Mini Vinnies have already been working hard in promoting our first school fundraiser, a Free Dress Day, to assist with the repatriation of Sister Julie to Nigeria, where her family live. The team are encouraging the students to wear free dress this Thursday 20th March and donate a gold coin for this great community cause for the Sisters of the Nativity.
Lent is an important time for our students and young people to come together. Please take note of this Lenten Initiative for our students to take part in.
Our Mini Vinnies will be selling ANZAC Day Pens $5, Badges $4 and Wristbands $3 for the next few weeks if you would like to contribute to our local RSL, supporting men and women who have fought for our country as well as an opportunity to support their families.
Stay courageous & hopeful.
