Welcome back to Term 4 !
In Term 4, our Japanese class began exploring three magic words that we can use to overcome challenges and approach difficulties with a positive mindset.
できますDekimasu ( I can do it. )
だいじょうぶ Daijoubu ( It’s ok. )
すごいSugoi. ( Great )
We are prepared to overcome challenges collaboratively and provide mutual support to achieve our shared goals.
Term 3 came to a wonderful close with a vibrant and memorable celebration of Japan Day.
Students enjoyed a variety of activities: a Judo demonstration, a Japanese themed quiz, an ink brush art workshop, Souranbushi Japanese dance by Sakura san, our community member and a Koto concert.
It was delightful to see so many students embracing the occasion by wearing Japanese-inspired outfits.
A heartfelt thank you to all parents and guardians for supporting their children in dressing up and bringing along something that represents Japanese culture.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all staff members who contributed to the success of Japan Day. Your support were invaluable in making this celebration possible.

PE & Sport – Term 4 Update! 🎾 🥍 🏉
It's been a fantastic start to Term 4 in PE, with students across the school diving into new sports, developing their skills and enjoying plenty of opportunities to get active!
Our Foundation students have been getting their first taste of bat tennis, developing their hand-eye coordination, racquet control and confidence through fun introductory activities. Meanwhile, our Year 1/2 students have been exploring the unique scoring system of tennis, putting their knowledge into practice through rotating games and friendly matches.
Our Year 3/4 students have been introduced to sofcrosse for the first time, learning the fundamentals of passing, catching, teamwork and safe gameplay. Our Year 5/6 students are wrapping up their sofcrosse unit before moving into AFL matches and preparing for another exciting term of Interschool Sport!
There's plenty happening beyond our regular PE lessons, too! With Lifesaving excursions and Interschool Sport taking place throughout the term, students have some wonderful opportunities ahead to build confidence, develop new skills and represent Ripponlea.
A friendly reminder to families: If you haven't already done so, please jump onto COMPASS and provide consent for your child's upcoming Term 4 events and excursions. Your prompt response helps us ensure everything is organised and ready for students to participate.
Looking forward to another active and exciting term of sport at RPS!
