Principal's Message
From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 4, Week 9
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
As we approach the end of the school year, I have been reflecting on my first year here at Werris Creek Public School. I am delighted to say that it has been a great year. Our staff and students make it a pleasure to come to work each day. With this being our last newsletter for 2024 and I would just like to wish everyone all the best for the festive season and a safe break. I look forward to welcoming everybody back in 2025. To our outgoing Year 6 students, I wish you all the best as you embark on your high school journey.
Behaviour Focus
Our behaviour focus for Week 9 is again Respect & Integrity - Telling the truth and accepting consequences. We are successful when we are:
Hours of Operation
We have noted that children are arriving before 8:30 each morning standing at our gate and calling the office to come in. Our staff are involved in other activities such as meetings, and preparation for the day until 8:30am, therefore, children will not be supervised before this time. Our office operates between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
Presentation Day 2024
Thank you to everyone who attended our Presentation Day Assembly this morning. It was amazing to see so many Parents/Carers and Family come to celebrate our students' achievements for 2024. Congratulations to all of our award recipients. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Tahlia and Jack our School Captains for 2024 who did a fantastic job hosting our assembly this morning.
School Captains for 2025
Congratulations to Lachlan and Lebron our School Captains for 2025 and Dominic D and Tailor our School Vice Captains for 2025. I would also like to congratulate and thank our School Captains Tahlia & Jack and our School Vice Captains Haidee & Alex C for all of your help and support as School Leaders in 2024. Our new Captains will be straight into their first engagement this Thursday evening as they host the Year 6 Farewell.
Pool Day
We will be holding our Annual Pool Fun Day this Friday, 13th December at Werris Creek Memorial Pool. Please note that school sports uniform and closed in shoes must be worn on this day. Our P&C will be providing a Sausage Sizzle for all students to enjoy. Information with regards to the day was sent home yesterday with your children. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
End of Year Class Parties
We will be holding end of year class parties next Monday, 16th December. We ask that all students bring their own food to enjoy on the day as we have chosen not to share plates. Children can wear their Christmas T-shirts or Christmas colours on the day.
Werris Creek's Got Talent
We will be holding the Annual Werris Creek's Got Talent event on Tuesday, 17th December. All students who wish to perform on this day are to see Miss Overell.
Term 1 2025
In 2025 there will be a change to our School Development Days. As a result, the school year will commence as follows:
31st January to 5th February 2025 - School Development Days - Staff only
6th February - All Students Return - Kinder to Yr6
10th February - Swimming Carnival 2025
Kind regards
