From the Assistant Principal,
YEAR 3 BYOD
A reminder to our Year 3 of 2026, that information was sent home last term regarding BYODD for Year 3 in 2026. Please see the office or myself if you need any support choosing the correct device that will suit our needs. Our preferred device is a Chromebook as this logs students directly in the Google space making it easier for them to work on during the school day.
AMADEUS 2026
Later this term, our Year 2 students will be selecting their preferences for instruments as they enter Year 3 next year. The Amadeus tutors showcase the instruments to the students and talk about them to help them make their choices. Forms will go home for you to speak to your child about the instruments as well. Once this form is returned, the Amadeus tutors match students to the correct instrument, by testing if they can blow into mouthpieces, stretch fingers across violin frets etc. Not all students will receive their first preference, as instruments are spread across the grade so that concert and string bands can be created.

END OF YEAR AWARDS
Our end of Year awards are held at our Year 6 graduation mass on Thursday 11th December and the K-5 end of year awards ceremony on Monday 15th December.
While we cannot give every child an end of year award, these awards are an opportunity to acknowledge students for the hard work they have put in throughout the year in many ways.
One of our new Year 6 awards this year will be the 'Leonie Burfield Kindness Award' named after our former principal who sadly passed away this year. This award is for a student in Year 6 who reaches out to others with kindess and compassion. This student looks for opportunities to include others and remains positive and optimistic in the face of difficulties.
As many of us know, these qualities were how we remember Mrs Burfield after all she went through before, during and after her time at St Patrick's.
