Concert Debrief

Term 3 ended with a bang due to the successful whole school production at Plenty Ranges. Thank you once again to the brilliant student performers, our dedicated staff and those parents who supported us in the audience by displaying the school values.

We have been overwhelmed by families contacting us with positive comments and feedback. At the next school council meeting we will review and also discuss the idea that has been presented, regarding a possible three-year rotation of production, talent show and art show. I would be interested in your thoughts.

3 Way Conferences

This afternoon and tomorrow, parents get the chance to meet with teachers for 3 Way Conferences. Please take the chance to celebrate your child’s learning and find out about their progress.

If you have issues that should be discussed without your child in attendance, please make an appointment to meet with our leaders Megan Long (Prep to 3) or Kristy Caruso (4 to 6) to share your concerns.

Holiday Works

Over the preceding two-week school holiday period we:

Added six new security cameras.
Painted Rooms 17 and 18.
Upgraded whiteboards and pinboards in Room 17 and 18.
Repaired the concrete entry to the school via Telopea Cresent.
Added a new concrete seat in the Prep/1 playground.
Installed an automated security gate on the administration carpark.

Year 3 Camp

Our year 3 students head to camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort next Monday. We are taking 80 students and 11 adults, including the principal.

Exciting times ahead, as these children prepare for their first Plenty Parklands camp experience.

Keeping Children Safe

We have noticed an increase in parents carrying children out of school at 3:30pm. This includes parents with children sitting up on their shoulders. Whilst on the school grounds, children are still in our care. Please help by refraining from doing anything that is unsafe in crowded areas. Carrying Prep students on your hip is also not assisting our attempts to teach students to be responsible young people who can walk around safely and carry their own school bags.

Interest in PPPS

To start this term, our office staff have had unprecedented interest in enrolment opportunities for 2026. More than ten phone calls have been received seeking positions for next year. In most cases we have only been able to accept students who live in our zone, or the odd student wanting a place in a year level that may have lower class sizes (where there are spots available). To assist, can I please ask families planning on not being here in 2026 to alert the office as soon as possible.

Harriet the Wellbeing Dog

As part of our ongoing policy review process, we have recently revised and amended our “Dogs at PPPS” policy”. Whilst we understand that many families in our school community keep dogs as pets, to ensure that our school remains a safe and inclusive place for everyone, pet dogs are no longer permitted on school grounds under any circumstances.

Our duty of care also extends to our wellbeing dogs. The safety of our wellbeing dogs is paramount and the school must provide a safe environment that enables them to undertake their role free of external distractions, which includes other dogs.
