WHAT IS HAPPENING AT PPPS

Home Group Placement 2026
Over the next month, our teaching staff will meet to put together classes for 2026. During this process we consider academic, behavioural, and social and emotional factors to create balanced class lists. A Compass post will be sent outlining the home group placement process for 2026.
Attached to this post will be an Optional Special Consideration Form for parents who may wish to submit a confidential request. These requests are limited to specific criterion, and we try hard to accommodate reasonable requests. If you have any questions about the process, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs Kristy Caruso.
Welcome to Harriet
We are very excited to be welcoming our second wellbeing dog, Harriet, onsite in the near future. Harriet, along with our current wellbeing dog Millie, will form a valuable part of our wellbeing program and will become a much loved and important member of our community.
Over the past term, we have been working with Dogs Connect to train and prepare Harriet for working in the school environment. Harriet has been visiting the school after hours so to become familiar with the school environment and to get to know the staff. The Dogs Connect team will support us in introducing Harriet onsite in a gradual and structured manner. They will work with us to learn ways that wellbeing dogs can be used to support student wellbeing. The knowledge we gain from working with Dogs Connect with Harriet will also be applied to Millie to ensure a consistent approach.
We have a team of staff (core team) who will lead this program. We look forward to sending more information in the future. We would also like to assure the community that this program will not involve anyone who does not wish to be involved. We know that this work will have a really positive impact on many people in our community, and we acknowledge and respect that connection with our wellbeing dog will be offered on a great variety of levels. We encourage anyone who would like to know more about this program to look through the website link below: https://dogsconnect.net.au
