Principal's Message

Dear God,
Thank you for guiding our hearts to care for one another.
Grant us open eyes to notice those in need,
listening ears to hear their worries,
and compassionate words to offer support.
May our school remain a sanctuary of kindness, patience, and love,
where no one ever walks alone.
R U OK? Day
This week, our school community came together to celebrate R U OK? Day, a vital annual reminder of the power of meaningful connection, active listening, and unconditional peer support. Cultivating a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels truly valued, heard, and cared for sits at the heart of our school philosophy. Events like this allow us to bring those foundational values to life in a tangible, memorable way for all our students.
We extend our gratitude to our Wellbeing Leader, Trish Lloyd, for her work in organising and coordinating the day’s activities. Trish’s planning ensured that our entire community from our youngest Prep students to our Year 6 leaders and staff engaged deeply with the core message of R U OK? Day. Her vision created a balance between serious, age-appropriate reflections on mental health and uplifting, community-building activities.
A major highlight of our celebration was the action-packed Kaboom Kid Sports session! The Kaboom team brought infectious energy to our school ground, setting up a vibrant, high-tempo tabloid sports experience complete with continuous movement and upbeat music. Their program proved that staying active, laughing together, and moving as a team are fantastic ways to boost our overall mental health and wellbeing.
Conversations about mental health have been a particular focus in classrooms throughout this week and on R U OK? Day itself. This is an important element of our overall wellbeing curriculum in school that runs throughout the year.
While designated events like R U OK? Day provide a powerful mark on our school calendar, building a culture of care is an ongoing, everyday commitment. Learning to check in on a friend, notice when someone seems quiet, or offer a listening ear are life skills we cultivate year-round. We encourage all of our school families to keep this momentum going at home by embedding regular check-ins into your daily routines and asking that simple, compassionate question: "Are you okay?"
Thank you once again to Trish Lloyd for her leadership, to the energetic team at Kaboom Kid Sports for an unforgettable event, and to our wonderful students and staff whose enthusiastic participation made the day such a resounding success.
Regards
Brian Martin
