HARMONY DAY CELEBRATIONS IN HAKEA!

On Friday last week, we celebrated the amazing cultures within our Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten on Harmony Day! We loved seeing the children dress up in orange or the colours of their country. We had some beautiful traditional dress today as well!

We spent the morning using water colours to decorate different hearts to add to our Harmony poster, reflecting that our hearts are connected as one.

We also joined the Correa group outside for a morning tea celebration. It was an INCREDIBLE spread of foods from around the world - encompassing the rich community of Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten. The children were invited to come and select what they would like, and enjoyed exploring the different tastes and textures of the foods.

WHAT A FEAST!

Celebrating events such as Harmony Day is a key part of our program at kinder, as we focus on community connection, celebrating diversity and engaging with the world around us. This links in with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework outcomes 1 and 2.
