From The Team

Hello to our wonderful Junior School Families!

Happy Week 7! It has been a wonderful and busy fortnight in the Junior School, with lots of exciting learning taking place across our classrooms. The students have been engaged, curious and enthusiastic as they continue to settle into routines and build their skills.

Thank you to the families who attended the Parent Helpers course. We are excited to have you working alongside us and supporting the students in our level. A big thank you also to the helpers who have already begun volunteering their time to assist with PMP. It has been fantastic to see the program up and running, and the students absolutely love it! If you are interested in helping in our classrooms, or with programs like PMP, it’s not too late to get involved. Please speak with your child’s teacher if you would like more information. This invitation is also extended to grandparents, as we know many families have grandparents who would enjoy volunteering.

Swimming

Swimming begins in Week 9 and the students are very excited! We have been talking with the students about what swimming days will look like and how our routines will be structured.

Getting dressed after swimming can be quite a tricky task! At home, encourage your child to practise getting dressed and undressed independently. Building these skills will help students feel more confident and prepared when it’s time to change after swimming. Thank you for your support in helping your child develop their independence.

We are looking forward to another great fortnight of learning ahead!

Foundation Induction Ceremony

Our Foundation Induction Ceremony was a very special and exciting event! Families enjoyed a delightful video of the students sharing what they love about school and what they hope to be when they grow up. The students enjoyed performing their “Good Morning” song and beamed with pride as they received their certificates. It was wonderful to celebrate this special milestone together!

F-2 PMP Superstars!

Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) on a Friday is definitely a weekly highlight! Each week, the F-2 students rotate through a range of fun activities that help develop their balance, coordination, strength and teamwork skills. It’s wonderful to see them having such a fantastic time while building these important skills.

A huge thank you to our amazing parent helpers who give their time to support these sessions.

Clean Up Our Community!

It was sensational to see our students excitedly get involved in cleaning up our local community. Armed with gloves and buckets, they set off to their designated local parks in Scoresby. The Foundation students stayed at school with their buddies to clean our beautiful school grounds. Thanks to Mrs Maguire for organising such a great community event!
