STATE FINALS: Senior boys baseball

Last Tuesday 20th may the Senior Baseball team represented Vermont Secondary college at the state finals held at Kingston Heath reserve in Cheltenham. It was an absolute honour to coach this team through the previous two rounds and arrive at our final hurdle!

One of our starting pitchers had a broken finger and was not able to pitch so Lucas Hobbs stepped up and provided some much needed innings. The team faced some of the best pitching and hitting in the state and were still able to be competitive as all three games were close in the early innings, unfortunately we were not able to overcome some late runs from opposing teams and did not make the final on the day. Highlights include Josh W hitting a grand slam home run in game 1 and Evan R hitting a majestic home run in game 2 as well as Nisith A pitching high velocity fastballs well into the afternoon.

I am incredibly proud of the team and would like to thank them for giving 110% in all three rounds of competition. You have represented the Vermont Values to the fullest, thanks to Ms Malander and Mr Gillespie for making sure that the students have an incredible sporting experience!

Until Next year,

 Mr. Malpeli
