From the Principal's Desk

It has been a busy 5 weeks since the last newsletter with so many events to celebrate.
P&C Shout-out
A heartfelt thank you to our P&C for organising the amazing Father’s Day Stall. The excitement and smiles from the students as they carefully selected gifts were truly heart-warming, and we are grateful for the time and effort our parent community put into making this event so special.
During SASS Appreciation Week we celebrated our School Administrative and Support Staff with shout-outs and a special grazing platter put on by Lauren and Kelly from the P&C. This event is in recognition of the invaluable role SASS staff play in our school community.
Excursions
Kindergarten including members of K-6 Koalas visited Calmsley Farm in recent days. The looks on their faces, their stories and photographs truly showed the importance of these events.
Kindergarten 2026
Do you know any children starting Kindergarten in 2026?
If so, please enrol online https://woodlandrd-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/about-our-school/enrolment.html
Kindergarten orientation sessions are essential for our Kindergarten teachers to get to know your child and begin planning the formation of classes for next year. Ideally, we’d like to have your child attend all the sessions.
If you know of a child starting Kindergarten next year, please remind their parent/carer to enrol online so that they can attend Kinder orientation sessions.
NSW Public Schools Survey
This year, students in Years 3-6 participated in the new NSW Public Schools Survey. This survey replaces the previous “Tell Them From Me” survey.
Some highlights from the survey: our school exceeded the state and statistically similar schools in the following areas:
- High expectations
- Classroom management
- Sense of belonging: supportive adult at school
- Engagement
- Sense of belonging: Connectedness
As a school, we remain committed to strengthening student wellbeing as a vital part of our School Excellence Plan, ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and engaged in their learning.
Preschool
Exciting news that the plans for the preschool are progressing at a rapid rate. I have attached an update from Infrastructure NSW.
Have a wonderful safe break with your families. School resumes for students on Tuesday 14 October.
