Principal's Report

Over the past fortnight, we have had the pleasure of welcoming so many of our wonderful mums, nanas, grandmothers, carers, and special women in our students’ lives to our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast. It was a beautiful morning filled with smiles, laughter, connection, and celebration as we acknowledged the incredible role these important women play in the lives of our students and school community. It was lovely to see.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so special. Events like these are a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community and partnership we have here at Monash SDS. We know how much our students value sharing these moments with the people who support, encourage, and love them every day.
This week we also proudly celebrated International Nurses Day and recognised our amazing school nurses, Zoe and Elise. We are incredibly fortunate to have such caring, skilled, and dedicated nurses supporting the health, wellbeing, and care of our students every single day. Thank you, Zoe and Elise, for the compassion and support you provide to our school community.
On Monday, we look forward to celebrating Education Support (ES) Day as we acknowledge and thank our incredible ES staff. The work our ES team does each and every day is extraordinary. Their dedication, care, professionalism, and commitment to supporting our students and classrooms is truly valued and appreciated. Monash SDS simply would not be the same without them.
We would also like to extend a very warm welcome to Sophie, who has recently joined us on Mondays and Tuesdays in Group 17. We are delighted to have Sophie as part of our Monash SDS community and know she will be a wonderful addition to the team.
A warm welcome also to Fin, who has been supporting our front office and helping at front of house. As Fin learns the role and becomes familiar with our school routines and community, we thank everyone for their patience and support.
Finally, we are very excited to share a “save the date” for a very special milestone in our school’s history. This year, Monash SDS celebrates its 50th anniversary! We look forward to coming together as a community later in the year for a huge celebration recognising 50 years of learning, growth, connection, and excellence. More information will be shared soon, but we encourage families, past staff, and community members to keep an eye out for upcoming details as we prepare to celebrate this incredible achievement together.
