Prep Information Evening
We are excited to invite prospective families, as well as current families with a child starting Prep next year, to our 2027 Prep Information Evening on Tuesday, 5th May. The evening will begin with a BBQ from 6.00–6.30pm, followed by an information session from 6.30–8.00pm.
During the session, families will also experience some demonstration lessons, providing a snapshot of what learning looks like in our classrooms. This event is open to families with children starting Prep in 2027. We would also greatly appreciate you sharing this information with friends or members of the community who may be considering our school. Please see the attached flyer for further details, including the RSVP link for catering purposes.
We wish to extend a special thank you to Emily Sheahan and Paul James from Bakers Delight at 59 Pier Street, Altona, for donating the bread for the BBQ.
We look forward to welcoming new families and a new cohort of Preps into our community!
Prep 2027 Enrolment Timeline
Enrolment applications for students starting Prep in 2027 opened on Monday 20 April 2026. Children can start Foundation if they turn 5 years old by 30 April in the year they begin school. School is compulsory for children who are 6 years old.
School zones can be found via www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au. In Victoria, every child has the right to attend their designated neighbourhood government school (local school). The Victorian government supports school choice. This means that you can apply to schools other than your local school. Schools will consider your application in line with the department’s Placement Policy, and offer enrolment if there are available places.
If you wish to tour our school (optional), please contact the office on (03) 9397 5722.
Submit your application form by Friday 31 July 2026.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application via email between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026.
If you receive an offer, you should accept the offer via email by Friday 28 August 2026.
If your enrolment application is not successful, and you believe you have appropriate grounds to appeal the decision, you may lodge a written appeal with the school by Friday 28 August 2026 using the Appeal Form, found in the Appeals information pack for parents and carers, available on the Enrolling in school webpage (https://www.vic.gov.au/how-choose-school-and-enrol). We will notify you in writing of appeal outcomes by Friday 11 September 2026.
Transition sessions will be run end of Term 3 2026.

Our School Council is proud of the excellent quality of facilities and resources available for our students to enjoy.
These opportunities, however, do not come without generous parent/carer contributions.
Each year, families at Williamstown North Primary School support the school through parent payments through Curriculum and Other Contributions.
Your contributions directly assist us in enhancing and broadening the educational experience for our students.
If you have not contributed thus far, we warmly encourage you to do so. Payments can be made via Compass on the home page under Course Confirmation.
WNPS families ongoing support, whether of a financial nature or through the generous giving of time, is greatly appreciated.
The second hand uniform shop will be open on the final Thursday of each month.
Open next on Thursday 28th May from 8:30am - 9:00am and 3:00pm - 3:45pm
School uniform donations may be submitted at the front office during regular school hours.
Thank you.
We would like to remind all members of our school community that dogs are not permitted on school premises at any time.
This policy is in place for several important reasons:
Student safety: Even well-behaved dogs can act unpredictably, particularly in busy and noisy environments with young children.
Allergies and health concerns: Some students and staff have allergies to animal fur or dander, which can be triggered by the presence of dogs.
Fear and anxiety: Not all children are comfortable around dogs, and their presence may cause distress or fear.
Hygiene considerations: Maintaining a clean and safe environment is essential, and animals can introduce hygiene risks.
Duty of care and liability: The school has a responsibility to ensure a safe environment, and the presence of animals can create avoidable risks.
We kindly ask that you do not bring dogs onto school grounds, including during drop-off and pick-up times. If you need to bring a dog with you, please ensure it remains outside the school gates at all times.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, inclusive, and focused learning environment for all students.
Nude Food is food without excess packaging. This reduces the amount of 'stuff' that needs to go in bins to be sent to landfill. Durable, reusable containers are a great way to bring food, as they may last from primary school through to high school and beyond, providing long term cost savings and environmental benefits. Up to 50% of items in school bins comes from food and drink packaging. You can help the environment and help our school reduce waste disposal costs.
