Principal Team Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy and exciting month at Beaumaris Primary School, with plenty happening across the school and lots to celebrate.

School Review

Earlier this term we completed our School Review, and I am extremely proud of the feedback we received, which was shared last week in a Compass Post alongside our 2026 School Performance Report.

The Review Panel spent time with our students, staff and families, visited classrooms and had the opportunity to see our school in action. The feedback was incredibly positive and recognised the significant work that has taken place across BPS over the past few years.

It was particularly pleasing to hear the way our students spoke about their school and learning, and to see the quality of teaching happening consistently across classrooms.

Thank you to our staff, students and families who contributed to the review. We are proud of what we have achieved, but also excited about what comes next as we develop our new School Strategic Plan and continue to improve.

Regional Basketball

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 students who recently made it through to the Regional Basketball Finals.

This is a fantastic achievement and something our students should be incredibly proud of. They represented BPS brilliantly, showing great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Well done to everyone involved!

2027 Class Placements

Planning for our 2027 classes is now underway.

As communicated recently, families have received information regarding the Genuine Educational Rationale process. If there is a genuine educational consideration that you believe needs to be taken into account when classes are being developed, please ensure this is submitted through the process provided.

Creating classes is a significant piece of work. Our teachers and leadership team consider friendships, academic needs, social and emotional needs and the overall dynamics of each class.

We greatly appreciate families trusting our staff to make professional decisions that support both individual students and the wider cohort.

Scoot, Step, Cycle

We are really excited to be working with Bayside City Council on the Scoot, Step, Cycle project.

Our Year 4 students have been doing an outstanding job leading this work and have set themselves the ambitious goal of seeing at least 94% of BPS students travelling safely to school without using cars.

This Friday we will welcome the Mayor to assembly to celebrate the project and announce the winners of our poster competition.

Keep an eye out for the student-designed posters around Beaumaris and see if your family can find all five routes to school!

Colour Fun Run

The Colour Fun Run is nearly here!

This is always one of the most energetic and enjoyable events on the school calendar and I know our students are already getting excited. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the fundraising. We are looking forward to another fantastic afternoon filled with colour, fun and plenty of laughs. The funds raised will be used towards completing our outdoor learning and play spaces with interactive games added to the yard.

Bike Education

There will be plenty of action with Bike Education taking place across multiple year levels.

Bike Ed is a great opportunity for students to develop confidence, safe riding skills and greater awareness when travelling around our local community.

Combined with our Scoot, Step, Cycle project, it is fantastic to see such a strong focus on safe and active travel across the school.

BPS Carols – Save the Date

A reminder to save Wednesday 9 December for our BPS Carols.

This is always a wonderful night for our school community and a great way to celebrate the year together.

More information will come closer to the date, but please make sure it is in the calendar!

Bayside Council Christmas Carols – BPS are performing!

This year Beaumaris Primary School Glee Club is very excited to share they have been asked to perform for the Bayside Carols at Dendy Park on the 8th of December. We encourage all families to come along and join in the festive spirit!  More information will come closer to the date, but please make sure it is in the calendar!

Teaching and Learning

Amongst all of these wonderful events, our main focus continues to be the teaching and learning happening in classrooms every day.

There is some outstanding work taking place across BPS, and we look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the remainder of Term 4.

Thank you, as always, to our staff for their commitment to our students and to our families for your continued support.

There is still plenty to look forward to before the end of the year!

Kind regards,

David, Grace and Keli
