Well, won’t that be a school concert that we will never forget? As I said in my message to the community this morning, thank you for the calm and orderly fashion in how you managed the evacuation. Whilst it was unexpected, this is why we practise drills as a school on a regular basis. Our students were remarkable in their ability to return to the stage and complete the show, brought together by another show-stopping performance from our staff. Again, thank you to our Music and Performing Arts teacher, Emma Walsh, for creating and directing another brilliant show.
As I have discussed in a couple of forums already, we will consider multiple options for 2027 and beyond to address the increasing want for tickets to this event and will communicate a final decision on this at a later date.
With the concert scheduled earlier this year, we now have the second half of a term to come that is looking full of fun events. Our students will celebrate all of Book Week, Science Week and the national ‘Bullying – No Way!’ Week in a variety of ways in weeks to come, whilst our students in Years 3 to 6 will participate in the annual house athletics carnival next Thursday. It is more important than ever to keep across all our communications on Compass to ensure you are up to date with permissions and payments for upcoming events.
We will soon farewell Mikaela Gleeson, as she commences family leave. We wish Mikaela and her partner Jonathon all the very best at this exciting time. I will soon share a staffing update with the class to announce the teacher for the remainder of this year. Mikaela has been busy preparing a thorough handover of learning and wellbeing information for the new teacher to ensure they are fully informed and prepared for the role.
Planning for 2027 is well underway, with workforce planning and budgeting particularly important at this time of the year. Of great benefit to this process is having as much clarity on future enrolment as possible. Noting that, please consider the following:
For families that you may know who are moving into the area, we continue to run school tours on a weekly basis. Attendance at these can be booked online via our school website.
Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
