Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS)

Mental Health and Wellbeing

This week in Friendology we have been becoming more familiar with using our Friend-O-Meter’s to determine healthy relationships, and understand that friendship fires are a normal part of conflict arising in any friendship. Students are learning about the 4 friendship facts and developing closer connections with peers. In senior grades, we are exploring how to manage mean-on-purpose behaviour by having a tool box of quick come backs.

Mindful Learning

The lucky students in our middle school have been involved in ‘book tasting’ sessions in class where they have been able to listen to ‘café’ music, whilst browsing and sampling different book genres to encourage students to find new authors or texts they might not normally select.

Respectful Relationships

Mrs K-R and myself attended the Inner East forum on Tuesday where we were able to hear from a number of schools and students in the area about how the Respectful Relationships curriculum is being implemented. We were absolutely inspired, and are equipped with new resources and ideas that will continue to strengthen our whole school wellbeing approach at Camelot.
