Inside our VCE Visual Arts program

Year 12 Visual Arts students undertaking Unit 3/4 studies in Art Creative Practice, Media and Visual Communication Design (VCD) attended an excursion to the city in week three. Students had a firsthand look at outstanding senior secondary student work showcased in exhibitions like Top Screens, Top Designs, and Top Arts, highlighting excellence from the state in 2023. 

In addition, students had the opportunity to attend several exhibitions of contemporary designers and artists at the NGV and ACMI, view aspirational visual folios, and attend a zine-making workshop run by the State Library Victoria. It was a day filled with inspiration and insight through a celebration of creativity. 

Through engaging with these exhibitions, students were able to deepen their understanding of the VCE Study Design for their respective subjects, allowing them to envision how their own ideas and dedication within their subjects could be further developed and refined as they progress throughout Units 3 and 4, resulting in what we believe to be a valuable learning opportunity for students.
