The start of this week saw the campus operations significantly impacted by the severe storms we endured. Thank you, everyone, for your understanding of what we could and couldn’t do during this period of time. Although most people have had their power restored, we are aware that some staff and students have yet to be reconnected. If any students need support, please contact the advocates.

Year 11 Parent Teacher Conversations will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 19th September from 3:30pm-7:00pm and also Friday 20th September from 10:00am-1:00pm. A compass notification will come out late next week, notifying you when bookings have opened, allowing you to book your conversations online.

On Thursday afternoon, we are also holding the VCE VM Market, which the students have been preparing for as part of their community project. On Friday morning, our Year 12 VCE students will sit their English practice exam.

This September holiday break is important for our students studying Year 12 VCE subjects. Participating in practice exams and attending revision lectures is vital for their preparation to give them the best opportunity to reach their potential in the final exams in October. Details and schedules are included in the Campus News section of this newsletter.

This week we were visited by local federal member Darren Chester and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Milton Dick who gave an engaging presentation to a group of our students on parliament and then held a question session where they invited and received questions on a range of topics. Also accompanying them was Bailey, a therapy dog from Therapy Animals promoting the Paws in Schools program. Bailey was very popular and a great example of how therapy animals can impact the feel of a room and the mood of people by their mere presence. Two of our school captains, Harry and Brayden, were on hand to thank our visitors on behalf of the University Campus.
