Garden

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

❤️GROWING TOGETHER❤️

A pea in a pot 😱🫛, releasing the birds 🐦 and ‘All creatures great and small’ ❤️☺️❤️.

Levi has been working diligently in our hothouse planting snow peas for spring and summer. A lot of nurturing and love ❤️ needed to bring them to harvest.  Check out the seeds beginning to sprout 🌱. Thanks Levi you’re doing an awesome job 🙏.

Our garden has some new arrivals. A  beautiful duck, a drake and six chatty budgies. We desperately wanted to find a replacement for our much loved geese - Gus and Gwen. Gus died a few years ago and Gwen last year. One of our garden leaders Zoe nurtured Gwen for many years. In honour of her dedication, hard work and kind nature she’s has had the duck named after her 🥹🙏. It’s never happened in the history of our garden 🙌. The drakes name is Ziggy. Many thanks to Zoe and Grace for releasing them into our chook pen. Check out the guard of honour! What a crowd…standing room only 😱.

When we need a tune we call on 🎸 ‘The Rifts’🎸 . Sam and Jimmy our much loved musos 🎶. I definitely need to manage these boys 💰. Bigger than Oasis and what’s more they like each other 🤷‍♂️🤔! They played the tune ‘Stairway to Heaven’ as we released six budgies into the lizard enclosure. So emotional 😭…so beautiful 😍. A massive shout out to Liv, Andrea, Zoe, Amali, Lily and Maggie for ALL their garden help 🤩.

BTW we are in need of some more lizards to keep our beautiful budgies company. If anyone is willing and able to donate please contact me.

We had a visit from some Kilbreda students. The most inspiring, dedicated, hard working and nurturing group of garden humans 👌💕. They have paved the way for many an aspiring garden leader. Brilliant scarecrow designers, Friday Festival planners, guinea pig breeders and much, much more. Thanks for coming to share your spirit and energy with us all. There’s definitely some future garden leaders in this photo. All creatures great and small ❤️☺️❤️.

🐥If families are keen on helping with animal care or adopt a couple of guinea pigs for the holidays please contact me for further information 🐸.

🦎 If anyone is willing and able to donate any blue tongue lizards, please contact me foverberg@stlouisaspendale.com🦎
