Reading is Magic

Book Week 2024

Book Week 2024 has come and gone, and what a magical week it has been! We started off with a special author's visit, then we began our book sale, we had a family read-around, some competitions in between, a few 'drop everything and read' sessions, a spectacular parade with some winners, and a winning book!!!

As all the competitions ended today, we will take a look at the entries over the weekend and announce the winners next week and in the next newsletter.

Our Uganda Project fundraiser was also a huge success!!!  Not only did our students raise $214.05 this week, our school community has collected a sizeable bunch of books that we are going to donate to the new libraries that will be built in Uganda.

A very special THANK YOU goes out to all the students, staff and parent community that made the magic of reading come to life at Holy Name this week. An even bigger thank you to the Book Week committee; Miss Ascenzo, Ms Preece, Ms Stokes, Megan, Ori, Ms Zannoni, for doing all the extra work behind the scenes. Our magical display in the library, and the competition board outside the staffroom are going to be up for a little longer, so you can walk through the school and take a look.

Here are some photos of the various things we had going on over the last week.
