GARAY GABA - Good News

Cultural Groups
At St Nicholas, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students take part in Cultural Immersion lessons led by the Aboriginal Education Assistants. Every fortnight, they explore a new topic that celebrates Aboriginal culture, history, and traditions, strengthening their knowledge, identity, and connection to Country.
Welcome Back to Term 4!
We hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing and safe holiday break and is feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting final term of the year!
We are looking forward to getting back into our regular Cultural Groups sessions, reconnecting with our students and continuing to learn, share and grow together.
Term 4 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting one, with plenty of wonderful learning experiences and opportunities ahead!
Student Spotlight
Each fortnight, we love highlighting the achievements of our Cultural Group students, both in and out of school. If your child has accomplished something they are proud of and would like to share, we would love to hear about it! Whether it’s a sporting achievement, academic success, creative accomplishment, community contribution, or something personal they have worked hard to achieve, please send it through to us. We look forward to celebrating and showcasing the wonderful efforts and achievements of our Cultural Group students!
Safe Travels Wii Gaay!
We would like to wish our four wonderful Wii Gaay students – Arie, Rylee, Adelaide and Nicholas – the very best as they travel to the Central Coast on Darkinjung Country in Week 3 for their second and final Learning Hub of 2026.
Accompanied by Miss Sharni, our students will have another fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, grow and celebrate culture.
We wish them all safe travels and an amazing experience filled with learning, friendship and unforgettable memories.
We can't wait to hear all about their adventures when they return!
Celebrating Culture Through Dance!
This week, our Primary Cultural Group students embarked on an exciting cultural journey, beginning their weekly Cultural Dance lessons.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Aaliyah Morley and Tayla Beattie, mentors from Gomeroi Education and Training, sharing their wealth of cultural knowledge, experience and passion with our students.
These special lessons are about so much more than dance. Through storytelling, cultural protocols and traditional movement, our students will have the opportunity to deepen their connection to culture and strengthen their identity.
The students will showcase what they have learnt at our End of Year Presentation Night, and we cannot wait to see their hard work and cultural pride shine.
A heartfelt thank you to Aaliyah and Tayla for generously sharing their time and expertise with our students. We are truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity and look forward to watching our students grow in confidence, develop new skills and enjoy every moment of this journey.
