What an exciting term we have had in Science! From making things spin and building pulley systems to creating recycled toys and experimenting with light, our students have been busy exploring, creating and thinking like scientists!

 Foundation – Forces in Action

Our Foundation students have been discovering forces and movement through fun, hands-on activities. They explored pushes, pulls and gravity, played push and pull games, made spinning wheels, and investigated what floats and sinks. Along the way, they made predictions and discovered that forces can make things move, stop and change direction.

 Grades 1 & 2 – Forces and Building

Grades 1 and 2 put their knowledge of forces into action by designing and building a hotel with a working pulley, using recycled materials. This fun STEM challenge encouraged creativity, teamwork and problem solving while helping students think about how reusing materials can reduce waste and help our planet. We will display our creations in term 4!!

 Grades 3 & 4 – Scientists and Inventors

Grades 3 and 4 have been exploring heat and heat transfer while learning how to conduct experiments like real scientists. They also took on a creative challenge to make a toy from loose parts, recycled materials and waste. This activity sparked plenty of creativity, critical thinking and clever ideas!

Grades 5 & 6 – Let There Be Light!

Our senior students have been investigating light and optics through simple, hands on experiments. Using mirrors, glasses and different materials, they explored how light behaves and interacts with objects around us.

Across the school, our students have been learning that Science is everywhere! Most importantly, they have been developing the skills to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, solve problems and learn from their discoveries.
