Important Information Regarding NAPLAN Testing in Year 3 and 5
NAPLAN is an annual assessment for all Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9. It tests the fundamental literacy and numeracy skills that are developed through the school curriculum. The results provide data that helps schools, education authorities, and governments monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement in teaching and learning, and allocate resources.
In your upcoming ‘Ready, Set, Grow’ meetings with your child's teacher you will be able to ask any questions that you may have about NAPLAN.
All students will require a pair of headphones for the tests.
The NAPLAN test window for 2026 is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 March, to Monday, 23 March. All tests will be online except for Year 3 Writing.

KINDERGARTEN OPEN MORNING
Current and new families are welcome to attend our OPEN MORNING - on the 19th of March. This morning is designed for parents who would like to learn more about our school. If you know of any families interested in St Nicholas, please spread the word!
SCHOOL UNIFORM - We wear it with pride!
At St Nicholas School we have high expectations with wearing our uniform with pride. We therefore seek parent and student support with wearing our uniform correctly each day. Each week for every student our sports uniform is to be worn Monday, Wednesday and Friday and our formal uniform is to be worn on Tuesday and Thursday.
We understand that at times students may need to wear an alternate piece of attire because of an unforeseen circumstance. If this is the case please email your child's class teacher to let them know.
VERITAS AWARDS
Our Veritas Awards stem from our school motto - ‘Veritas’ - meaning truth. The Veritas Award is awarded to students who have been consistently displaying citizenship, leadership and/or Christian Living. Students receiving a Veritas Award are those students who have displayed our ‘Rules for Living’ in their everyday interactions. We announce our Veritas award recipients at Friday morning assemblies every fortnight. Congratulations to Sarah Unwin, Grace Manners, Addison O'Connor, Harvey Preston, Billy Bonnell-Campbell, Joanne Justin, Iluka Lesley, Charlotte Cordy, Caleb Baculio, Henry Young, Yug Bhattarai, Tessa Milne, Archie Clein, Alice Reed, Sophia Mitchell, Georgia Cannon, Imogen Kidd, Evie Fox, Emilia Bunnemeyer, Harper Henry and Sophie LaBrooy.
