SPOTLIGHT

Year 3 Grade Spotlight
Year 3 has had a busy and engaging few weeks. Students enjoyed participating in the Questacon Science Fair, where they explored hands-on investigations and asked thoughtful questions about how things work. It was great to see their curiosity and enthusiasm for Science in action.
We also took part in an AFL clinic, where students practised their kicking, handballing and teamwork skills. They showed great sportsmanship and encouraged one another throughout the session.
In Visual Arts, students have been working creatively on their seascape collages. They’ve enjoyed experimenting with different textures and materials to create detailed ocean scenes, and we’re looking forward to displaying their finished pieces.
We have also been busy preparing for the upcoming NAPLAN assessments. Students have been revising key literacy and numeracy skills and building confidence in applying their knowledge independently.
In the second half of the term, students will be focusing on creating information report posters. We look forward to welcoming you into our classrooms to view their completed work. Watch this space!

YEAR 4
Year 4 have had a very busy start to 2026. We are thoroughly enjoying reading the Roald Dahl classic, “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. We have also been creating our own narratives. So far we have planned our story carefully, written some “sizzling” starts and this week we have been tightening the tension in our stories by creating some intriguing problems for our characters.
We have also shown our artistic flair by creating a variety of bright, bold artworks using watercolours, collage and patterns. There were foxes, chickens and even a Ken Done inspired representation of Tamworth.
During sport we have also played lots of fun, and sometimes high paced, team games to practise the skill of rolling to a target. Getting the right direction and just the right amount of power in each roll is sometimes trickier than it looks. We were also lucky enough to participate in an NRL skills clinic last week, where we practised our catching, passing and pace.
Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!!
QUESTACON
We were thrilled to welcome the Questacon Science Circus to our school for an exciting visit with our Year 1–4 students! Frances and Jade captivated everyone with their engaging “Flight” and “Energy” shows, sparking curiosity and wonder through hands-on demonstrations and interactive experiments. Students explored how things soar through the sky and discovered the amazing ways energy is created and used in our everyday lives. It was a fantastic learning experience filled with laughter, surprises, and plenty of scientific discovery.
