As we rapidly approach the end of another vibrant term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible efforts of our students and staff, and share some important updates with you all.

Congratulations to Fr Deleep

We share a moment of great joy for our parish community: Fr Deleep officially received his Australian Citizenship on Tuesday!

It was a pleasure to attend the ceremony with Fr Deleep's family and members of our Parish. Our students created special messages to Fr and these were presented to him in a book with some Australian icons.

Fr visited school to  share his personal journey with our students, who were absolutely captivated and asked many thoughtful questions. We are incredibly grateful for Fr Deleep's support of our school, and we warmly invite all of our families to join us in celebrating with him at Mass on Sunday 28 June at 10am followed by an Australian themed morning tea.

Student Free Day

Please remember - Friday 19 June is a student free day. Staff will be taking part in a Faith Formation Day.

Living Well, Learning Well:

Our Focus on Growth

This term, our core focus has been centered around our Living Well, Learning Well framework. We firmly believe that wellbeing and learning go hand-in-hand; when our students feel safe, valued, and supported, they thrive academically and socially.

It has been wonderful to see our students embodying these values daily by showing kindness, resilience, and a genuine enthusiasm for their learning.

Joey's Awards

It is a joy to hear about the wonderful things our students are doing across the school as we celebrate success. Our focus has been on LEARNING over the last fortnight.

A very special congratulations goes to our recent award recipients:

'Rules for Living':

  • Week 6: Daniel
  • Week 7: Saskia

Assessment and Reporting: Semester 1 Updates

We are currently wrapping up a busy and vital assessment and reporting period. Our teachers have spent the last few weeks carefully reviewing student progress, grading assessments, and writing feedback to reflect each child's growth over the first half of the year.

Report Distribution: Please note that Semester 1 Reports will be sent home during Week 11.

Next Steps: We view these reports as a valuable tool to celebrate achievements and identify key areas for growth as we head into the second half of the school year.

Transition to Kindergarten: Welcoming Our Newest Learners

Looking ahead to next term, we are incredibly excited to begin welcoming our future students and families through our Kindergarten Transition Program. Preparing for 'big school' is a major milestone, and we have a fantastic program lined up to ensure a smooth, confident start for our 2027 Kindergarten students.

  • Transition Sessions: Next term, transition visits will be held on Thursdays. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for the children to familiarise themselves with the classrooms, meet their future peers, and get a taste of school life.

  • Information Evenings: To support our families through this exciting journey, we will be hosting two dedicated Information Evenings:
    • Wednesday, 5 August
    • Monday, 24 August

These evenings are designed to provide valuable insights into our school curriculum, and routines. We welcome new and existing families to attend.

Term 4 Excursions

These trips are a vital part of our students' hands-on learning and social development, and we are putting together some fantastic itineraries with our Years 4 / 5 / 6 students set for Canberra.  Please complete the EOI on Compass ASAP to support our planning for this event.

Communication

We have been working hard to transition to Compass for communication to families. This is happening across all Armidale Catholic Schools. It is a useful platform to keep in touch with a range of school sources including - event permission, Semester Reports, attendance notes and so much more!

We understand some families do not have access, however, this will be soon be our main form of communication. It is important to please provide timely permission for student excursions and events. Without parent / carer permission, students may miss out. If you require any assistance to access the Compass Parent Portal - please contact the office.
