Music Camp

The Music Department of John XXIII College’s annual Music Camp is set to depart for its first visit to the Swan Valley Adventure Camp! The Music Camp is one of the most anticipated events of the College calendar, as over 200 young musicians converge on the Swan Valley for a weekend of music-making. Music Camp is attended by all Secondary ensembles.

Please note the following:

Wednesday, 10 June at 8:30am – GBLT: Pre-Camp Briefing

All students attending camp are required to attend a briefing in the GBLT next Wednesday, 10 June at 8:30am. Student attendance has been marked in SEQTA in lieu of attending Homeroom. Please bring your books for Period 1.

Thursday, 11 June at 8:30am – PAC: Instrument Dropoff

Due to limited space on the passenger buses, all students will need to drop off their instruments at the Performing Arts Centre by 8:30am on Thursday, 11 June.

Friday, 12 June at 8:30am: Camp Departure

Students attending camp will arrive at 8:30am on Friday, 12 June to load luggage onto camp buses, before attending a briefing in the TMEC. Students are not required to wear uniform.

Sunday, 14 June at 1:00pm: Camp Concert

Students who have attended past Music Camps will recall a staple of the event - the Camp Concert. This year's concert will be held in the Assembly Hall, at 1:00pm. Students may return home with their parents after the concert on Sunday or be collected from the College at approximately 4:00pm. If intending to collect students from camp, please contact the Music Office as the online form has now expired.

Chapel Choir

Chapel Choir is open to all Years 1 to 12 students who love singing, with a focus on liturgical music. Rehearsals commence at 7:30am in the Chapel with Ms Haydon and Mr Johnston on Fridays. Chapel Choir then sings at Community Mass (commencing at 8:00am). Secondary students who sing in the choir may include this time in their Roncalli Service hours. Please contact Ms Haydon for more information.
