Get Ready for Green Day!

We have an exciting week ahead filled with fun activities organised by our wonderful Student Representative Council (SRC). All funds raised from these events will go directly to Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) to help children stay stronger for longer.

We are also thrilled to welcome a representative from MDA who will be visiting our school this Friday afternoon!

Here is everything you need to know about what’s coming up this Friday and into next week:

💚 SRC Green Day – Friday, 24th July

This Friday, all students are invited to dress up and show their community spirit for Green Day!

The Brief: Come to school wearing green clothing and get creative with green crazy hair! This could include green hair bands, green temporary hair colour, or green ribbons.
Donation: We kindly ask for a gold coin donation to participate.
Note: If your child chooses not to participate in the dress-up day, they are required to wear their normal school uniform.
Families are highly encouraged to join us in wearing green on Friday too, letting the wider community know that you are supporting this fantastic initiative.

Green Jelly Bean Guessing Competition

This week, we are also launching our jelly bean competition; but with a twist! Instead of a regular mix, this is a guessing competition specifically for the number of green jelly beans in the jar.

Donation: Each guess requires a gold coin donation.

Down Ball Competition

HR Students love their downball. This Friday the inaugral HR Down Ball competition kicks off this and will run all through next week. It’s bound to be a fun event for the students.

Donation: Entry into the competition is also gold coin donation.

Building Maintenance Program Commencing Next Monday

We are thrilled to announce that our school building program officially kicks off next Monday! We are partnering with construction company, Vision Built, and last week I met with their team to get everything set in motion.

Here are the key details of the project:

Scope of Works: The project will primarily focus on critical upgrades to roofing, drainage, and the balustrade near the Year 5/6 area.
Timeline: The work will run from next Monday until the end of the year.
Updates: I will provide regular progress reports in the newsletter to keep everyone informed as the works unfold.

To underscore just how vital these upgrades are, our music room leaked once again last week. The leak was severe enough to require industrial dryers to clean up the space, highlighting exactly why this infrastructure project is so urgently needed for our school.

Safety & Minimising Disruption

We acknowledge that a project of this scale will bring some level of inconvenience. Please rest assured that extensive planning has been underway behind the scenes to keep disruptions to an absolute minimum while strictly ensuring the safety of students, staff, and families.

Staffing for 2027

While it might feel early, behind the scenes we are already well into planning our staffing and classes for 2027.

To ensure we can recruit and employ the highest quality staff and maintain the best possible learning environments for our students, having accurate enrolment numbers is vital.

If your family circumstances are changing and you know your child(ren) will not be returning to Holy Rosary School next year, please notify the office as soon as possible. Your timely updates make a significant difference in helping us plan effectively for the future!
