Australian Mathematics Competition 

On Tuesday  4th  August, 30 Ballarat High School students from Years 7 to 11 sat the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), one of the largest and most respected school mathematics competitions in the country.

The AMC challenges students with a series of problem-solving questions that test not just their mathematical knowledge, but their ability to think creatively and apply concepts in new and interesting ways. It's a fantastic opportunity for students to extend themselves beyond the classroom curriculum and measure their skills against tens of thousands of students from across Australia and beyond.

Congratulations to all 30 students who put their hands up to take part this year, representing a wide range of year levels and demonstrating real enthusiasm for mathematics. Taking on a competition like this takes confidence and a willingness to tackle unfamiliar problems — qualities that will serve these students well both in and out of the classroom.

Results will be published later in the year and we look forward to celebrating our students' achievements when they arrive. Well-done to everyone involved and thank you to the staff who supported students through the competition process!
