Prayer for 'Solidarity'

Loving God,

Help us to stand together as one community, recognising that we all belong to one another.

Teach us to notice those who may be feeling lonely, excluded or in need of support and give us the courage to reach out with kindness and compassion.

May we celebrate our differences, listen with open hearts and work together for the good of all.

Guide us to build a school where everyone feels welcomed, valued and respected, and where we live out your call to love our neighbour each day.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our current focus is the Catholic Social Teaching Principle “Solidarity” – recognising that we are all connected and responsible for one another. This encourages students to stand together, look out for others, include everyone and support those who may be struggling, knowing that when one person in our community is hurting, we all have a responsibility to care.

Next Family Mass – Saturday 29th August

Our next Family Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 29th August at 6pm at St John's Church, Euroa, and we would love to see as many of our St John's families there as possible. Our Family Masses are a wonderful opportunity for our school and parish communities to come together in faith, celebrate the Eucharist and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special. 

Class Masses

Mass is at 12.30pm on Fridays at the Church.

This term's Class Mass Times are as follows: 

• Sacrament of Reconciliation (TBC)
• Friday 18th September: Year 6 and Foundation Class Mass

Other important Masses in Term 3:

• Friday 28th August: Year 6 to Notre Dame for Catholic Mission Launch Mass in Shepparton

Aboriginal Spirituality

Aboriginal Spirituality is a source of lore and a way that Aboriginal people communicate their world views. It reflects the ideology that the ancestors returned to the earth which created our sacred and spiritual beliefs.

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness."

As Catholic educators, the identity and success of Catholic education is linked inseparably to the witness of faith given by the community who truly live their faith. Recognising and acknowledging the rich cultural expertise of Aboriginal spirituality will enrich our experience of the catholic faith.
