Principal's News

We acknowledge the Taungurung people, the traditional custodians of this land and we pay our respect to their elders past, present and emerging.

Dear Families,

We are halfway through Term 3 and there is a great buzz around St John’s! Book Week is underway, Athletics Day is just around the corner and there are plenty of opportunities coming up for our families to be part of school life. It has been great to see our students settled, working hard and enjoying everything happening around the school.

Feast of the Assumption Mass

Last Friday we gathered as a whole school to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. It was a beautiful opportunity for our students and staff to come together in prayer and celebrate our faith as a school community. A huge thank you to Mrs Lou Frewen for preparing and leading our Mass, and to our students for the wonderful reverence and respect they showed throughout the celebration.

We look forward to another opportunity to come together with our wider school and parish community at our next Family Mass on Saturday 29th August at 6pm. We would love to see plenty of our St John’s families there to join us.

Book Week this week!

This week we celebrate Book Week, with the 2026 theme “Symphony of Stories”. There is plenty to look forward to throughout the week, including visits to the Euroa Library and our Book Week Parade on Friday morning. Families are warmly invited to join us for the parade just after 9am on Friday, followed by an opportunity to visit classrooms and enjoy some activities with your children. A huge thank you to our staff for the work that has gone into making Book Week such a special celebration of books and reading at St John’s. I also want to thank our families for the effort that goes into helping children prepare their costumes. We know it takes extra organisation at home and really appreciate your support in making these special days so much fun for our students.

Athletics Day next week

Our St John’s Athletics Day is fast approaching and will be held on next week on Wednesday 26th August.

🔆(we are watching the weather closely and the date may change depending on what the weather looks like next week)

We would love to see plenty of families there supporting our students and helping us create a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. A huge thank you to Mr Linc McKernan for leading the day and the incredible amount of work that goes into making this day such a success.

Students may wear their full sports uniform or a t-shirt in their House colour with their sports uniform. These are the only two uniform options for the day.

Father’s Day coming up in Week 8

Looking a little further ahead, our Father’s Day Breakfast will be held on Thursday 3rd September from 7am and there will be no cost for families to attend. We hope many of our families can join us for breakfast and enjoy what is always a really special morning together at St John’s. There will also be a parent run Father’s Day Stall on Friday 4th September, with gifts available for $10 (please make sure this is brought along on the day).

Catholic Education Sandhurst Survey

Some families may have already received information about the 2026 Catholic Education Sandhurst Survey. Feedback from our community helps us understand what we are doing well and importantly, where we can continue to grow and improve. I really value open and constructive communication between school and home and this survey is another important opportunity for families to have their say and contribute to the future direction of St John’s.

Completing the survey is easy:

1. Visit: https://research.orima.com/cesschools/family

2. Select: St John’s School Euroa

3. Enter your family PIN: Your individual family PIN has been provided with your survey information.

4. Complete the survey and submit your responses.

RAFFLE PRIZE: As a little extra incentive, once you have completed the survey, please send me an email screenshot to let me know and you will go into the draw to win a family dinner voucher at Northern Republic! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to participate.

Have a wonderful fortnight ahead.

Take care,

Sam
