Accelerate Program Science Gallery Excursion

The exhibition on display was called EMERGENCE(Y) - various technologies were on display related to environmental technologies that are emerging in response to combat climate change. Technologies included fire-resistant clothes made from mushrooms, 3D printed coral and robotic grass blowing in sync with wind data collected from Mars. 

Year 10 Digital Technology and Engineering

Last Friday, Year 10 Digital Technology and Engineering students visited Hanwha H-ACE, where they toured the facility and saw firsthand how advanced manufacturing techniques are used to produce armoured vehicles for the Australian Defence Force.

Throughout last term, students have been exploring similar advanced manufacturing processes while designing and producing their own 3D-printed race cars. During the visit, students had the opportunity to test their race cars and compare their own design and iteration process with the processes used in the development and manufacture of armoured vehicles.

A highlight of the visit was watching one of Hanwha’s Huntsman armoured vehicles being put through its paces on the facility’s test track.

The excursion provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect their classroom learning with real-world applications in advanced manufacturing, engineering and design.

Homework Club

To support students to improve their maths, we are starting an optional drop-in sessions with some of our Maths teachers to help you review your maths work and finish off classwork or homework, get assistance to prepare for tests and exams, or just a time and space to finish off your maths work!

Anyone from years 7 to 12 completing any maths subject is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Mr McKeon will be in Y1 on Tuesday at lunchtime, and Mrs White will be in the Library from 3.10 to 4.10.
