Book Week & Book Fair

Book Week

The event is celebrated by the CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) to promote reading and Australian children's literature. The CBCA was founded in 1945 to address the scarcity of Australian children's books at the time. 2025 is a milestone year as we join the CBCA to celebrate 80 years of Children's Book Week!

The 2025 theme is "Book an adventure"

Dress up parade and assembly: Friday 22nd August @ 9:00am

Scholastic Book Fair

Celebrating Book Week and holding our annual Book Fair aims to encourage a love of reading from our students through the excitement of choosing a book! This promotes independence and taking ownership of their reading.

Exposure to books outside the classroom supports literacy development through exposure to more vocabulary and having a wider range of background knowledge to bring to learning experiences. Having more books at home (borrowed or owned) is also linked to higher literacy achievement.

Thankyou to everyone who supported our annual book fair! A huge thankyou to Ange A and all the staff who volunteered before and after school to help with sales,  setting up and packing up.
