WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to attend the worship service held in the Church each Sunday at 9.30am.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Held every Tuesday during term time from 9-10.30am, Playgroup @ St Paul is for children aged 0-5 and a parent/caregiver. School families are more than welcome to come across after you have done the school drop-off. We won’t be completely set up, but you are still welcome to hang out with us.

Cost is $2 per family and your first visit is free.

Come and check out the play space, make a craft, play with playdough, explore the sensory play space, and join in with story and song time.

This week we made pop stick and patty pan ducks at the craft table and played with the ducks swimming in ‘water’ in the sensory play space.

Next week we will be looking at roosters with the book ‘Cock-a-Moo-Moo’ by Juliet Dallas-Conte.

SPY - ST PAUL YOUTH

SPY is our gathering for young people in Year 6/7/8. The next date is Friday 16 May.

Join us in the St Paul Lutheran Church Hall, 44 Audrey Ave, Blair Athol at 7pm until 9pm, with a night of fun activities planned.

A reminder that all parents are required to come inside and register your attendance. Cost is $3 and cold drinks are available for $2 a can.

Boys - please bring supper to share.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

In the Bible verse this week, God calls us to love each other. His love for us is so big and overwhelming and gives us an example to follow to love the people around us. To use words and actions with kindness, patience, gentleness and forgiveness and to put the needs of others ahead of our own.

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: love each other. Just as I have loved you,

you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are

my disciples.” (John 13:34-35)

In his book The Five Love Languages of Children, Christian author Gary Chapman explains that children are designed by God to give and receive love in different ways. What says “I love you” to one child may not speak as powerfully to another. Chapman suggests that there are five particular love languages: Words of Affirmation; Quality Time; Gifts; Acts of Service; Physical Touch.

The following can help you determine your child’s primary love language:

Observe how your child expresses love to you
Observe how your child expresses love to others
Listen to what your child requests most often
Listen to your child’s most frequent complaints
Give your child a choice between two options and observe which they choose
Look for how each family member expresses love
