Netball All Schools Cup

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Netball Schools Cup last Friday. Everyone had a fantastic day. Our competitive Yr 5/6 team won on the day and will now progress to the North West Regional Finals being held in Tamworth on September 11.  Thank you to our parent managers who supported the teams on the day.

NSWCPS Cross Country

Congratulations to Zara Caskey, Matilda Andrews, Hunter Will, Ava Coleman, Zach Andrews, Digby Brazier and Liam Guest who qualified and competed last week at the NSWCPS Cross Country in Sydney.

 

All students represented HTS and Armidale Diocesan well, with many impressive results.

Athletics Carnival Year 3-10

Our Athletics Carnival for students in Years 3-10 plus nominated 8 year olds in Year 2 is on this Wednesday, 18 June, at the Athletics section of the Inverell Sporting Complex. Please note the below:

  • Students wear their sports uniform on Wednesday. They may wear their house colours. They need to bring their bag, hat and warm clothing. Please label items as there is often lost property after these days. Sunscreen will be provided. 
  • Students will be bused to the complex from 9:15am
  • Carnival begins at approximately 9:30am
  • Students will return to school by bus at 2:30pm 
  • If you are taking your child home during the day, please sign them out at the School Office table near the canteen
  • Students are encouraged to bring healthy lunch and snacks plus their water bottle.
  • Mrs Adams will be running a canteen onsite. Students need to bring cash to buy lunch, snacks and drinks, EFTPOS will also be available.  There will be no lunch orders for students at the complex. K-2 students at school order their lunches as normal through Spriggy Schools.
  • This year, we are trialling combining our track and field events. We ask for your support as we attempt this change. We hope that this gives our students a more structured and involved day with thechance for our families to see more athletic events. 

K-2 Cross Country

Our Infant's classes have been getting ready for their Cross Country which is being held on the back oval this Friday, 20 June. We are looking forward to a great day.

 

Toni Palmer Memorial Shield - League

The Toni Palmer Memorial Shield will be held on Wednesday 25 June at Kamilaroi Oval. Teams are being formed and notes will be sent home later this week with more information.

 

Primary School Sport - Term 3

During Term 3 primary students will participate in one of the following winter sports: rugby league, soccer or netball. In the coming weeks students will be asked to select which sport they want to do for the term.

  • Trials for the Stage 3 Todd Woodbridge Cup team will continue next week.

7-10 Sport News

School Sport

Students will continue to participate in one of the following winter sports this term: rugby league, soccer, netball, league tag, Hockey, basketball, indoor sports ($5.00).

 

Bill Turner Cup Soccer

Commiserations to the Boys Bill Turner Cup team who played and were defeated by Armidale Secondary Collage in round 3 of the competition in week 6. In a very competitive game, Armidale won the contest 2-0.

 

CCC Cross Country

Congratulations to the following 7-10 Boys and Girls long distance runners, who travelled to Sydney to compete in the NSWCCC Cross Country on Wednesday of week 7.

Bronte Ellis, Madyson Higgins, Georgie Moore, Luke Readett, Ruby Selig, William Sinclair, Jack Sweeney and Max Sweeney.

 

All students competed very well and there were some fantastic results on the day. 

 

Congratulations to Luke Readett, who has qualified to run at the NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships, to be held in Sydney on the 22 July. 

Cochrane Cup Rugby League and League Tag

Congratulations to the U14’s Rugby League team and the Year 7/8 and 9/10 girls League Tag teams who played at Kamilaroi Oval, Inverell in week 6. All students involved on the day represented our school well. The boys Rugby League team were successful in winning the day and will now progress within the Cochrane cup competition early in Term 3.
