Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Staff,
I am writing to seek your support regarding an important matter affecting our school environment. Recently, we have experienced several incidents involving the misuse and vandalism of student toilets. These incidents have included toilets being blocked with food, flooding caused by excessive paper use, and wet toilet paper being thrown onto roofs and walls.
Unfortunately, this behaviour creates unhygienic conditions, damages school facilities, and disrupts the learning environment for all students.
At Albion North Primary School, our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework teaches students the importance of being Respectful, Responsible and Team Players in all areas of school life.
This includes how students use and care for shared spaces such as our bathrooms. We regularly teach and reinforce these expectations at school; however, we know that strong partnerships between home and school are key to helping students develop these important habits.
We would greatly appreciate your support in speaking with your child about the importance of using school toilets appropriately. This includes:
- Using the toilet facilities for their intended purpose only
- Placing toilet paper in the toilet and not on walls or ceilings
- Keeping the space clean and tidy for others
- Reporting any problems to a teacher or staff member
When students demonstrate respect for shared spaces, they help ensure that everyone in our school community can feel safe, comfortable and proud of their environment.
We will continue to reinforce these expectations with students at school and monitor the facilities closely. Your support in reinforcing these messages at home will make a significant difference.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in supporting our students to make positive choices and contribute to a respectful school community.
Kind regards,
Have a great weekend,
Joanna Uzunovski
Principal
