Principal's Report
by Katelyn Joyce, Acting Principal
It is hard to believe that – just like that we are at the end of the first term of 2026. What a great term we have had here at Syndal South P.S. Our classrooms have been places of success with very focussed and calm learning taking place each day. Both in and out of the classroom, Term 1 has kept students, teachers and families busy. Look at all of the events and achievements that have taken place recently:
Our Year 3 and 5 students did themselves and the school proud participating in NAPLAN
Year 1 excursion to McCrae Homestead
Staff Professional Learning day focussed on Reading Comprehension with Andrea Hillbrick
A visit from some very tall Collingwood Football players
Our Foundation teachers have visited local kindergartens
Lunchtime music concerts
A fabulous House Athletics Day
Aerobics training
Harmony Day
Year 5/6 camp
And a brilliant Camp Out
All of these events and activities come about as a result of our community working together. Thank you to our P.A. and all of the parents who have supported activities and events this term. Without your support our school would not be the hive of activity that it is!
Sincere thanks also to our Teaching E.S and Office staff who all worked diligently this term to set up safe, engaging and supportive learning environments for our students.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Award and Recognition.

At Syndal South Primary School, we are very proud of the calm learning and play environments that our students are a part of. There are many factors that contribute to our positive school culture. One factor is the work the school has undertaken in implementing the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. We are very proud to announce that in 2025 we achieved Silver level recognition for our implementation of SWPBS. This milestone reflects the consistent efforts of our staff, students, and wider school community in fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Through clear expectations, proactive teaching of positive behaviours, and a strong focus on wellbeing, we continue to build a culture where every student can thrive. We are delighted to see our shared commitment recognised and look forward to continuing this journey of growth and improvement together.
Voluntary Contributions
Thank you to all the families that have made the voluntary contributions to our school this year to support the programs that enable every student in our school to thrive. We have had a good response and we appreciate your contributions. Families still wishing to contribute can do so through the Compass App or through the Office.
Happy Holidays
We wish everyone a very safe and happy term break. We hope you enjoy some time to connect with family and friends. A reminder that school finishes at 2:30 next Thursday 2nd April.
